My mother, Selma, painted from models in life drawing, open studio sessions throughout her career. I have many drawings and several paintings of Sylvia, a stunning, African American woman who oozes sensuality, no matter what pose. If my mom were still living, I would ask her many more questions about her subjects. Instead, I make up and interpret things.
