One of the first dramatic rock formations you see on the iconic Tom’s Thumb Trail in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve in Scottsdale, AZ, is about midway. These kissing boulders at the Prairie Falcon Overlook are about 30’ high, foreshadowing what is to come. You can see Tom’s Thumb in the distance, and you know you’re in for geological wonders every step of the way. These “kissing” boulders beckoned me to make it to the top, and embedded an intricate, cosmic pattern honoring Mother Nature's magic.
