My mom, Selma, did this painting from a sketch from her hotel room when she visitied Paris in the 1980s. Allen Ginsberg said, "You can't escape the past in Paris, and yet what's so wonderful about it is that the past and present intermingle so intangibly that it doesn't seem to burden." For some reason the streets of Paris hold our past in some form, and stimulate the desire to rekindle the flame.
