TWO BY THE OCEAN
My mom, Selma, went through a magnificent phase in the ‘70s painting in the style of Abstract Expression, which means art that “evokes emotion and attracts the eye.” Since our family was bi-coastal, Oceanside, NY, and Los Angeles, being on the beach was and is in our blood. Now, I just get to fantasize about touching the sand, dunking in the ocean, absorbing the sun, and smelling the sea air…or looking at paintings like this one that fill my condo in the Arizona desert! It is hydration of the soul.
